Soller

On Monday we decided to try and see a cool sunset. The map we showed where the good view points are, so we headed for one of those. We went up to Soller because it had a view point and a lighthouse. Here is a view of the city (town) on the way up to the light house. This is a really beautiful area!

We parked the car at the lighthouse and went walking/climbing a ways looking for a nice, out-of-the way place to watch the sunset. We finally found a good place (although the rock was a bit rocky) and settled in to watch the sunset. We were going to take a picture every 10 minutes and try to put together a cool applet. This is the first of the series.

Here is Alan on our rocky rock.

Looking out too the sea... After a bit we started thinking logically and realized that the sun wasn't going to go down for a few more hours. We hung out for awhile and got bored (surprise), so we decided to head back into Soller to find dinner. After dinner we went driving around trying to find another good place to watch the sunset.

We got pretty high up. Here is a view of all of (well, a lot of) Soller. See the water in the middle of the picture? Soller is a port town and is built entirely around the bay area. Our first view point (the lighthouse) was on the other side of the bay from where we are now (just off the right side of the picture).

This is awesome!

Here is a huge building being built right on the cliff. We couldn't figure out what is was going to be, but it had some pretty serious warning signs around it. Of course none of them were in English so we had no clue.

There is the lighthouse we were originally at. Our rocky area is around that first little bump past the lighthouse heading towards the coast.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I hate it when my tires crisscross! :)
