Here is a fruit stand in the subway system. That is a very European thing.
The train station at Hauptwache
Church and a bright orange ambulance
This is a neat looking building. We also stopped at that sausage place right next to the building so Alan could get an authentic German sausage.
These are Teletubbies cookies. We saw them and just had to get a picture for Kim!
There is my hand buying a postcard for Mom :)
The lovely me! We couldn't find lockers in the airport so we had to carry our bags around all day. Of course our second time through the airport (on our way home) we passed tons of lockers!
Here's us (duh!) in a pretty park area
Some important guys standing on a fountain and a bunch of kids cooling down in the fountain.
We were gonna go in and steal a car and cruise around for awhile. But then we realized we'd probably miss our plane if we did, so we decided to keep walking.
There's my cutie husband!!! :)
Some pretty flowers
Funky trees in a cute outdoor cafe area
I love these sunflowers! They were big, fake flowers. We went into the store that sold them too and it was full of neat, decorative items. Most of them extremely fragile.
GLADIATOR!
This Indian guy was pretty cool. Has everyone seen this kind of thing before? Sometimes people paint themselves all up to look like a statue and then stand in a public area for a long time. Its cool, but kind of creepy. We saw a guy painted gold in San Francisco, but he was especially creepy because he had a big mask over his face. This guy here was really cool though.
This statue was really weird. So weird I had to take a picture of it. I'm sure its something biblical or historical or something. The big guy on the bottom has random body parts scattered about. Really weird.
Here's where we got lunch. It was a cafe inside a HUGE shoe store. I guess when you spend all day shoe shopping you need a nice place for lunch. I was happy because they had cheese and tomato sandwiches :)
That's the shoe store. See the little sign in the window that says 'Mike's Cafe'? That's where we ate. Nothing like finding the most American place around to eat :) Well...we did bypass the MickeyD's down the street.
After walking around for a bit we sat down in this square right near the train station and watched people for awhile. These kids here were doing (or attempting to do) all sorts of fun skateboarding tricks and stuff. Skateboarding is apparently huge in Frankfurt.
Here is the sausage place. We saw it at the beginning of the day and stopped by on the way out.
Alan eating an authentic German sausage. He wasn't terribly impressed with it. We're also drinking bubbly water (blah!) One of the hardest things to get used to in Europe is asking for non-bubbly water (or water with no gas :) ).
Back to the train.
German military folk protecting and serving the Frankfurt airport. Alan was good enough to ask their permission before taking the picture. Luckily, otherwise I would have been bailing my new husband out of a German prison somewhere.
I know airplane pictures generally suck, but this cloud was sooooo cool looking. It looks like a tornado brewing above the clouds.
I'm not sure why we took this one, but clouds are always pretty so you all get to see them :)
